M is for Mike
Mike is visiting from San Diego so we took a trip to the Museum of Life and Science.
Inside the butterfly house - you can see one flying past Oliver's hat, but more importantly, Oliver is pointing!
Mike's friend Larry is a zookeeper at the museum, so we had a behind the scenes tour - How cool is that? This is Wendy, a blind groundhog.
This is a chinchilla. Not to brag, but we got to pet him. He was so soft - doesn't he kind of look like Pokemon?

Romeo is home!
Romeo taught us a lesson -- he's tired of being upstaged by the baby. I used to have rolls and rolls of pictures of Romeo (before digital), now I have thousands, literally thousands, of pictures of Oliver. But I learned my lesson the hard way and now you can expect to see a lot more pictures of my firstborn...but not of the cat - he doesn't care.
That doesn't mean you'll be seeing fewer pictures of Oliver, just more of Romeo.
This truck chair was a gift from Aunt Becky and Uncle Jason. And while I couldn't get Oliver to demonstrate...

Then I tried to get a picture of Oliver crawling through this birthday tube, but he wasn't interested.
But Romeo was happy to oblige! We love you Romeo! Welcome home.

Oliver's First Birthday Party!
This was the grand finale of the week long celebration of our baby's first year.

Towards the end of the party, Romeo went missing. We spent a few hours combing the neighborhood to no avail. While I was out posting signs this morning, a woman drove by and asked me if I was looking for a small white dog. I said yes and immediately started crying. She told me she had him, gave me a big hug and went home to get him. Apparently, Romeo had decided to take a walk around the block and since he had his party collar on, he didn't have any tags. She found him walking down Club Blvd. and took him home. While we spent the night in a bewildered state of shock, he spent the night playing with her Corgi, eating steak and sleeping in her bed. This was the last picture we took of him before his great adventure.
