New Orleans

DAY TWO...
During our morning walk from our hotel to Cafe du Monde we stumbled upon this idyllic courtyard.

Here we are in Jackson Square.

This is us in the Hotel Monteleone's beautiful rooftop pool. We were afraid that Oliver didn't really love the water because he's been a bit curmudgeonly on previous occasions. It turns out that he just doesn't like cold water. This water in this pool was nice and warm and we both loved it.

More Byrne family photos.

Checking out the view of the rain drenched Quarter from our 5th floor hotel room. There were huge thunder showers yesterday and today.

Naked baby looking at photos of ectoplasm in my New Orleans Ghosts Voodoo and Vampires book.

DAY ONE...
Our jet set baby is getting to be a pro at this.

At Cafe du Monde with Nana.

mmm...beignets. I challenge you to find something more delicious than fried dough and powdered sugar.

Seeing Great Grandma Rita in real life

Mom gave granddad a whole bunch of old photos for his birthday. Here they are reminiscing about the olden days of yore.

New safari hat... don't be jealous.

Great Aunt Harriet and Oliver having a crazy good time with funnels and spatulas.

Rosie and Ren. Friends from way back, friends for life.

Granddad rockin' a mullet...

Granddad rockin' a hat....

Granddad rockin' the ukulele.

We had a super delicious dinner at Pascal's Manale. Mom was utterly enamored with her bbq shrimp.
